Canceling an Order
This web site is owned and operated by Distant at http://www.distant-la.com.
The material contained within this web site is periodically checked for accuracy and is presented without any warranties, either expressed or implied. Distant will assume no, and hereby disclaims any, responsibility for any errors or omissions of this web site's content. Distant shall not be responsible for any damages incurred as a result of the content or use of this web site.
By using the material at this web site, all users agree to all terms and conditions contained in this web site, which are subject to change without notice, as well as all applicable laws, and do so at their own risk. All changes to this legal notice will be posted to this web site in a timely manner.
Occasionally, orders for an item exceeding our supply are received. If we are unable to fulfill your order, you will be notified and your credit card will not be charged.
Materials contained within this web site are intended for U.S. residents. Any deliveries requested for addresses outside the U.S. are subject to refusal by Distant.
If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our web site.
Distant business hours are; Monday through Saturday 11am-7pm. We are closed on Sundays and national holidays.
When we receive a high volume of orders, there may be approximately 1- 5 additional days to process an order.
The purchaser may requests express delivery, which takes 2-3 business days, for an additional charge.
NOTE: WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR MIS-DIRECTED OR MISSING SHIPMENTS / PACKAGES / ITEMS - VERIFY YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT AND THAT SOMEONE RESPONSIBLE IS AVAILABLE TO ACCEPT YOUR ORDER.
At this time Distant only ships merchandise to the U.S. (50 states) Additional charges may apply to merchandise shipped to Alaska and Hawaii.
We cannot deliver to P.O Boxes; the delivery address must be a street address. Orders to P.O. Boxes will be cancelled.
We make every effort to accurately display current shipping rates for both FedEX and the USPS.
Adjustments may occur at time of actual shipment should these carriers change their rates from the time you placed an order and when the order actually is shipped.
We require a signature for all deliveries. [ must be at least 18 and reside / live / work at the ship to address ]
****Rates shown here may be different than the actual charges for your shipment. Differences may occur based on actual weight of the packed merchandise, dimensions, and distance. The accurate cost will be defined at the day of the shipment and the purchaser will be advised with the tracking number. The shipping price includes insurance.
All shipping is provided via FedEX or USPS. A street address is required for delivery. Merchandise will be delivered standard ground transportation, which takes 7-10 business days. The purchaser may request express delivery, which takes 2-3 business days, for an additional charge.
Please note that it may be longer for FedEX or USPS to make a delivery; we cannot control the package once it leaves Distant.
FedEX or USPS does not deliver on the weekend or federal holidays as part of their standard shipping policy.
In the event of undeliverable packages, the purchaser is responsible for the handling and shipping costs to and from the delivery address and will receive a Web Credit for the returned goods. No refunds.
Gift certificates can be purchased online in various denominations from $25.00 - $1,000.00 You can buy multiples of each denomination.
Gift Certificate Policy:
Gift certificates can also be used at our physical store: Distant, 4516 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90027.
Select the items that are desired to be purchased, and write down the names of the items with SKU (#) numbers and prices.
Then, the recipients of gift certificates may fax their order with the Gift Certificate Number to (323) 660.0676
You will receive a confirmation email for your order.
*Please note, that gift certificates are handled as legal tender. Therefore; if a gift certificate is lost, a replacement cannot be issued.
Return and Exchange Policy:
Distant prides itself on offering the highest quality merchandise and service. If you are not delighted with your purchase, Distant-la.com return policy is stated below.
All orders / items subject to return / exchange must have an RMA Reference # (issued by Distant).
*For Exchanges, returns and/or Edited Orders, the purchaser is responsible for all handling and shipping costs to and from Distant.
No refunds are given on shipping and handling charges.
If Distant has sent the incorrect item or damaged item, Distant is responsible for all handling and shipping charges.
All returns must be sent via UPS, Fed Ex, or USPS, registered mail, or any other delivery service that can track a package, and requires a signature upon delivery.
Distant will issue a refund in the form and amount of the original tender paid (including sales tax) or Distant will issue a Merchandise Credit, at the customer's choice, when each of the following conditions has been met:
1. The merchandise must be returned within ten (10) business days of purchase; and
2. The merchandise must be in its original, unused condition unless there is a manufacturer's defect; and
3. The merchandise must be accompanied by the original Distant Receipt or the original Distant Proof of Purchase Label.
(Proof of Purchase information is included on the packing slip for all Distant orders.) ; and
4. Distant has sent an incorrect item, a damaged item, and when the customer chooses not to receive an exchange for the correct item or a replacement and web credit.
If your merchandise is subject to Return/Exchange, Please contact with Distant and we will e-mail or fax you the Return/Exchange Form. Include the Return/Exchange Form, completely filled out with your order number, the date the order was delivered to you by UPS, FedEX, or USPS, billing and shipping contact information, quantity number of each item being returned, item name, item description, single item price, total price of returned items, and a brief description of what the problem is with the merchandise.

Upon receipt of returned items, meeting the requirements of our Return and Exchange Policy that determine a Web Credit, a customer will be issued a web credit, valid for one year from the date issued, and that can be used to purchase products on Distant-la.com.

Out of stock items:
Please note that items may be out of stock, and we make every attempt to contact the customer in the event of out of stock inventory. The purchaser?s credit card will not be charged.
Canceling an Order:
The purchaser may cancel an order in 24 Hrs after the online purchase has been made. Please contact our center by calling 323.669.0829. Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel orders once they have been shipped.

Any required / contested / requested policy decision by Distant's Management is considered FINAL and as a valued customere you will be notified by phone / email or both.
